Impaired Albumin Uptake and Processing Promote Albuminuria in OVE26 Diabetic Mice

There is a significant correlation between albuminuria and the number of tubules with prolonged retention of TR-albumin. Each data point is from one OVE mouse and shows 24 hr urine albumin excretion of that mouse and the number of tubule segments counted with TR-albumin fluorescence per sq cm of kidney cortex 48 to 72 hours after the mouse was injected with TR-albumin. Pearson product correlation coefficient is 0.81, (). The trend line shows the best fit linear regression (slope = 0.48).
