AR inhibition increases HG-induced phosphorylation of AMPK-α1 in Thp1 cells. (a) The Thp1 cells and (b) control and Nrf2-SiRNA-transfected cells were pretreated with fidarestat for overnight followed by incubation with HG for 15, 30, 60, and 120 min. Equal amounts of cytosolic proteins were subjected to Western blot analysis using antibodies against total and phospho-AMPK-α1. Fold changes were determined after normalizing with total AMPK-α1. A representative blot from three independent analyses is shown. when compared with control, and # when compared with the HG-treated group.
