WT: wild type (homozygous wild type in leptin receptor gene); db/db: leptin receptor deficiency (homozygous mutants in leptin receptor gene); BW: body weight; WAT: white adipose tissue; BAT: brown adipose tissue; TG: triglyceride; T3: triiodothyronine; T4: thyroxine; TSH: thyroid-stimulating hormone. #The number of male samples for milk intake measurement was 7. All data were obtained from mice after 3 h fasting except milk and food intake (described in detail in Materials and Methods). Values are the mean ± SE. Values except milk and food intake were analyzed by two-way ANOVA (interaction, age, and genotype) followed by the Tukey-Kramer method when significant. Bold values mean the significance in the interaction. In the case, the main effect of age and genotype is shown by the parenthesis as a reference. Values of milk and food intake were analyzed by unpaired Student’s t-test, respectively. The same superscript letter and NS indicate that the difference was not significant. vs. WT mice at the respective age.
