Nutritional and Health-Related Bioactive Compounds in Horticultural Crops and Their Detection by Advanced Techniques

Call for Papers

Consumers are more and more concerned about the nutritional and health-related characteristics of horticultural crops. A great number of research studies results have shown that, due to the rich nutritional and bioactive components, fruit and vegetable consumption may provide desirable health benefits and play important roles in the prevention of life-style related diseases. The aim of the Special Issue is to publish results of the most recent results and reviews on nutritional and health-related bioactive compounds of horticultural crops and their detection by Gas/Liquid Chromatography, Supercritical Fluid Chromatography (SFC), Electrophoretic Separation, and Chemical Sensors and Biosensors for bioactive compounds. All the researchers studies on quality of horticultural crops including medicinal and aromatic plants are highly invited in this issue.

Potential topics include but are not limited to the following:

  • Importance of health related bioactive components in horticultural crops: structure, functionality, and bioavailability
  • Commercial applications and detection of natural bioactive compounds to obtain safe, high-quality, nutritional, and functional of horticultural crops
  • Detection of health-related phytochemicals by advanced methods in horticultural crops
  • The application of chromatography techniques on quality analysis of horticultural crops
