Description

Fixed point theory is a common cornerstone of functional analysis and topology. Over the last century, the theory of fixed points has been investigated densely and applied to several distinct branches of mathematics, as well as different disciplines such as biology, chemistry, economics, engineering, game theory, physics, and logic programming.

Over the last few decades, fractional calculus and fractional differential/integral equations have been greatly appreciated and investigated. This theory leads to the understanding of several physical phenomena in a better way. This research area has great relevance with approximation theory and operator theory, numerical computational methods, control for nonlinear fractional differential equations, well-posedness of fractional mathematical models, and the development of new technologies.

The aim of this Special Issue is to promote both fixed point theory and fractional differential/integral equations theory as well as their relations together with possible applications. We welcome both original research articles and review articles discussing the current state of the art.

Potential topics include but are not limited to the following:

  • Fixed point theory and its applications
  • Iterative mappings and convergence
  • Algorithms for fixed points and best proximity points
  • Well-posedness and control in fixed point theory and fractional differential equations

  • Boundary value problems of fractional differential equations
