Intelligent Solutions in E-Health and Medical Communication Services

This issue is now closed for submissions.

Description

Increasing and aging populations with chronic illnesses are straining health services in both developed and developing countries. E-health services may improve access to quality health information and improve self-management. Thereby, it helps alleviate the burden on health services. In addition, e-health can improve the quality of health services by increasing shared decision-making and by empowering patients. E-health can be defined as the use of information and communication technology for the enablement or improvement of health care.

Worldwide rapid technological development with increasing Internet access and the pervasiveness of smartphones makes e-health relevant to all. E-health has expanded from web-based services to health apps, online video services, and social media. New services and technologies are constantly being developed.

The aim of this Special Issue is to bring together original research and review articles that describe the use of e-health services. Submissions should focus on why e-health services are used, the various outcomes of using such services, and how e-health services impact traditional health services. This Special Issue welcomes research that addresses e-health services, especially from medical, psychological, and societal perspectives.

Potential topics include but are not limited to the following:

  • Intelligent solutions in e-health services
  • Telemedicine in medical communication services
  • Social media in medical communication services
  • Intelligent solutions in e-health network
  • Internet of Things (IoT) with e-health
  • Mathematical modelling in e-health
  • Communications in e-health
  • Computer science and technology in e-health engineering
