Vaccination with Enzymatically Cleaved GPI-Anchored Proteins from Schistosoma mansoni Induces Protection against Challenge Infection

Kinetics of specific IgG and IgG1 anti-GPI-Proteins in sera of mice vaccinated with GPI-Proteins preparations. Sera of 10 immunized mice per group were collected prior first immunization and at days 15, 30, 45, 60, 75, and 90 after first immunization and assayed by ELISA for IgG (a) and IgG1 (b) antibodies. Control group was injected with PBS plus Freund adjuvant. Arrows indicate times of three immunizations. Results are presented as the mean absorbance measured at 492 nm for each group per day of sera collection. Asterisks indicate statistically significant differences of vaccinated groups compared to control group (). Results are representative of two independent biological experiments.
