Effect of propofol on LPS-induced TNF-α and IL-6 expression. (a) RAW264.7 macrophages were pretreated with dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) or 50 μM propofol for 40 min and then stimulated with LPS for 2 h. Steady state mRNA levels of TNF-α and IL-6 were examined by RT-PCR. (b) The levels of TNF-α and IL-6 mRNA were quantified by measuring band intensities and shown as fold increase relative to β-actin mRNA levels.
