Flow Cytometric Detection of p38 MAPK Phosphorylation and Intracellular Cytokine Expression in Peripheral Blood Subpopulations from Patients with Autoimmune Rheumatic Diseases

<table>Surface epitope staining in methanol-permeabilized PBMCs of patients with autoimmune disorders. PBMCs from a representative healthy individual and patients with autoimmune disorders were fixed in 2% paraformaldehyde, permeabilized in methanol, and stained with MoAbs specific for CD3, CD56, CD7, CD11c, CD22, and CD27. Lymphocytes were gated on forward/side light scatter properties. Surface epitope staining was preserved in samples from healthy controls and autoimmune patients. The distinction of PBMCs subpopulations was clear.</table>
