LPS induces the expression of inflammatory cytokines. Human macrophages derived from peripheral blood monocytes were treated with indicated concentrations of LPS for 24 h. Cellular RNA was extracted and subjected to quantitative real-time RT-PCR for TNF-α (a), IL-1β (b), and IL-6 (c). Data were expressed as mean ± SD of three independent experiments.
