The Role of Dendritic Cells in the Differentiation of T Follicular Helper Cells

Figure 1

The regulation of TFH differentiation by DCs via the costimulatory and cytokine signal pathway. The costimulatory molecules expressed on the surface of DCs, such as ICOSL and OX40L, and cytokines (IL-6, IL-12, IL-23, IL-27, and TGF-β) secreted by DCs can promote the differentiation of naïve T cells into TFH cells. B cells were stimulated to produce antibodies with the help of TFH secreting IL-21. In addition, IL-21 produced by TFH could also enhance TFH differentiation at an autocrine manner.
