Neutrophils correlate with the MZ B cell region in the spleen. Immunofluorescence staining of adult spleen sections. (a) Anti-MARCO stains the MZ macrophages, correlated with the area of IgM high-expressing MZ B cells. The Ly6G antibody marks the splenic neutrophil in the peri-MZ region, surrounding the white pulp (WP) and proximal to the MZ B cells and macrophages. Pictures are shown in overview of WP and high magnification of the MZ structures. (b) Anti-MOMA-1 labels the metallophilic macrophages, which locates at the inner ring of the MZ region and rarely in touch with spleen neutrophils. Scale bars represent 100 μm. Data represent two independent experiments with two mice each experiment.
