A Dislocation-Based Theory for the Deformation Hardening Behavior of DP Steels: Impact of Martensite Content and Ferrite Grain Size

EBSD analyses of deformed DP800 strained to 8%. The coloring indicates misorientation angle in degrees relative to the reference point (in this case colored blue). The red, yellow, and green coloring—the more misoriented ferrite—increases with strain. It is observed that the ferrite with the highest level of misorientation is located close to the martensite-ferrite interface.
