Contour-plots of selected environmental variables on DCA.𝑅₃₂, axes 1 and 2, showing patterns of variation in ordination space. The contour-plots are fitted by use of the ordisurf command fitting GAM with Gaussian errors. The size of the bubbles is proportional to the magnitude of the target value and are comparable between plots because environmental variables are ranged between 0 and 1. Axes are scaled in SD units of compositional turnover. The equidistance between contours differs between plots. See Table 2 for description of environmental variables.
