Influence of the Blue Coral Heliopora coerulea on Scleractinian Coral Larval Recruitment

Four sets of four tiles each were placed either directly inside H. coerulea aggregations (a) or on rocky substrate away from the coral (b). Replicate sets of tiles were placed at least 2-3 m away from each other within a reef area of about 10 × 10 m at 5-6 m depth in the Malilnep channel, Bolinao Reef Complex, northwestern Philippines.
