The number of colonies obtained from extension by hPol of a control scaffold (black) was compared with the G[8,5-Me]T scaffold (white) at different time points in the bar graph. The number of colonies obtained from the 120βmin extension of the control 36-mer was arbitrarily considered 100%. The zero time point showing no colonies ensures that colonies only originated from the extension products.
