Expression of Genes and Their Polymorphism Influences the Risk of Knee Osteoarthritis

<div>Quantitative real time PCR analysis was performed for relative mRNA expression of genes involved in cartilage synthesis and repair in control and case study. Quantitative analysis suggested that expression of GDF5, ESR-<i>α</i>, and CALM-1 genes downregulated in case group compared to their respective control. <i>β</i>-Actin served as housekeeping gene for normalization.
