Supplementary Material

This supporting information describes materials, sample preparation, and characterization regarding a turn-on fluorescent probe for nitric oxide detection in aqueous media. A turn-on fluorescent probe consists of CdSe/ZnS quantum dots (QDs) coordinated with dirhodium complex. The QDs were synthesized by using a typical pyrolysis process and then capped with CTAB (hexadecyltrimethylammonium bromide) as hydrophilic capping agents in order to disperse in water. A probe was characterized by field emission transmission electron microscope, UV-Vis spectrometer, photoluninescence spectrometer, respectively.
