Validation of a Rapid Visual Screening of Campylobacter jejuni in Chicken Using Antibody-Conjugated Fluorescent Dye-Doped Silica Nanoparticle Reporters

Relative LOD of serially diluted pure culture of C. jejuni (ATCC 33560) (). The small but uniform bright spots were considered bacterial cells. Positive (10³ to 10⁵ cfu/ml) and negative (10² cfu/ml) results under fluorescent microscope were demonstrated. The relative LOD of the proposed assay was 10³ cfu/ml.
