Scheme of the nanocomposites synthetized by two different methods. The HAuCl₄ salt is reduced by different agents in order to obtain gold nanoparticles with two sizes, 20 nm (CTAB) and 40 nm (sodium borohydride). After, the surface gold atoms bind to the thiol group of the PEG; the exposed amino group interacts with the negative charges of the pDNA.
