Nanodentistry
Description
In recent years, increasing attention has been devoted to the development of nanotechnology in dentistry to bring significant advances in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease. Nanomaterials in dentistry have been also introduced to overcome the physical and chemical characteristics of conventional materials such as noble and base metals, amalgam alloys, cement, composites, glass ionomer, ceramics, denture base resin, and other materials used in dental operations. Therefore, nanodentistry will make the possibility of new potential treatment opportunities in dentistry
We invite investigators to contribute original research articles as well as review articles that will stimulate the efforts to develop nanomaterials used in dentistry, test the physical and chemical characteristics of the nanomaterials, and evaluate the outcome. We are also interested in articles that explore aspects of nanomaterials and nanotechnology related to dental implant and bone-graft substitutes covering academics and clinics in vitro and/or in vivo model.
Potential topics include, but are not limited to:
- Nanomaterials in dental adhesive and cementation
- Nanomaterials in restorative dental materials
- Impact of nanotechnology on dental implant
- Nanomaterials for the control of oral biofilm
- Nanotechnology in dental drug delivery systems
- Nanobiomaterials in bone regeneration
- Animal model to test nanobiomaterials in dentistry
Before submission authors should carefully read over the journal’s Author Guidelines, which are located at http://www.hindawi.com/journals/jnm/guidelines/. Prospective authors should submit an electronic copy of their complete manuscript through the journal Manuscript Tracking System at http://mts.hindawi.com/submit/journals/jnm/nden/ according to the following timetable:
