Nanostructural Biomaterials and Applications

Description

In recent years, nanoscience and nanotechnology have obtained the great progress. Among a number of nanosubdiciplines, biofunctional nanomaterial is the rapid developing and attractive one. Due to their unique structures and marvelous properties, a variety of biologically functionalized nanomaterials have been synthesized, and they have shown convicting and practical applications in various aspects, including bioprobes, medical imaging, drug delivery, tissue engineering, and early tumor diagnosis. This field is still blooming, and it is boosting the development of the solutions to complicated biological issues.

We here invite overview and original papers focusing on nanostructure and biofunctional nanomaterial, to conclude the state-of-the-art significant progressions in related fields and inspire the development of biofunctional nanomaterials with novel properties and applications. Hence, both experimental and theoretical works are welcomed.

Potential topics include, but are not limited to:

  • Synthesis of nanostructures and their biological applications, like the development and biomedical applications of magnetic nanoparticles and plasmonics systems
  • Methodologies to characterize bionanomaterials, like in situ characterization, and (super) high resolution imaging
  • The functionalization of bionanomaterials and their applications in biological researches, like the functionalization of peptide/DNA nanostructures and the corresponding applications
  • Theory, modelling, and numerical simulation of bionanomaterials and their composites
