Nanomaterials for Energy Conversion and Storage
Description
Energy today is one of the most exciting and important themes of research, mainly due to the depletion of fossil fuels, environmental pollution, and global warming. Recent advances in nanomaterials have introduced new opportunities with scientific insight into the energy storage and conversion devices. Knowledge and understanding of nanostructured and mesostructured materials have led to the development of advanced energy devices such as polymeric electrolyte membrane fuel cells, solid oxide fuel cells, lithium ion batteries, solar cells, and electrochemical supercapacitors. We invite investigators to contribute original research articles as well as review articles dealing with both fundamental and application aspects of energy-related devices that will stimulate the continuing efforts to meet the various remaining challenges.
We are particularly interested in articles describing new materials and characterization/simulation techniques for polymeric electrolyte membrane fuel cells, solid oxide fuel cells, lithium ion batteries, solar cells, and electrochemical supercapacitors or other energy devices contributions not specifically cited above. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:
- Recent developments in nanomaterials for energy-associated applications
- Advances in characterization and simulation techniques for nanomaterials
- Latest technologies for energy devices with nanomaterials
- Role of catalysts and electrocatalysts in the performance of energy devices
- Role of support in the performance of energy devices, such as PEMFC or other devices
- Recent advances in membranes for PEMFC
- Recent advances in hydrogen storage and conversion
