1D Nanomaterials: Synthesis, Properties, and Applications

Description

One-dimensional (1D) nanostructured materials, including nanotubes, nanofibers, and nanowires, have attracted much attention due to their interesting properties and wide range of potential applications. Recent advances in nanomaterials have introduced new routes and mechanisms to controllable synthesis of 1D nanomaterials. The unique properties of obtained 1D nanomaterials can lead to applications in various fields such as electronics, magnetism, optics, and catalysis.

We invite investigators to contribute original research articles as well as review articles that will stimulate the continuing efforts on 1D nanomaterials to understand mechanisms of different preparation methods, physical and chemical properties, and evaluation of outcomes. We are particularly interested in articles describing new methods for synthesis of hydroxides/oxides/oxalates/metals/sulfides with 1D nanostructures, carbon nanotubes, and carbon nanofibers; advances in synthetic technologies; new insights into properties and applications. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:

  • Metals with 1D nanostructures
  • Sulfides with 1D nanostructures
  • Hydroxide nanowires and nanotubes
  • Oxide nanowires and nanotubes
  • Carbon nanotubes and carbon nanofibers
  • Synthesis of 1D nanomaterials
  • Nanostructures of 1D nanomaterials
  • Properties of 1D nanomaterials
  • Applications of 1D nanomaterials
  • Recent developments in synthetic routes
  • Advances in 1D nanomaterials
