Increasing prevalence of obesity in the MENA. Prevalence (%) of obesity increased in both men and women in countries of the MENA between 2004 and 2008. Numbers are WHO estimates in World Health Statistics of 2005 and 2011. Totals of men and women are integrated for purposes of comparative illustration and do not represent adjusted arithmetic total prevalences. Obesity was defined as body mass index (BMI) ≥30 Kg/m2.
