Immunohistochemical analysis of epithelial corneal nerves using neuronal class β-III tubulin. Confocal images were obtained as described in the Materials and Methods and assessed using Imaris software for the percentage of nerve volume relative to the total volume imaged. Data are presented in percentage of nerve volume relative to total volume imaged ± SEM. The number of animals per group was the same as described in Table 3. compared to control group, compared to control group, and compared to untreated diabetic group.
