OD growth curves of S. enterica in BHI broth at 37°C after treatment with surfactant-only solutions and incubation for 1 h: (a) treated with 0.4, 1, 8, 10, 12, 14, and 16% SC; (b) treated with 0.1, 0.4, 1, 2, 4, and 8% SDS, and (c) treated with 0.1, 0.4, 1, 2, and 4% SDBS. Controls were cells without surfactant treatments. A blank was used before each reading. Blanks were samples without cells or surfactant.
