Release of siRNA from Liposomes Induced by Curcumin

Figure 1

The release of siRNA from DOPC/DOPE liposomes treated with curcumin. DOPC/DOPE liposomes containing siRNA were treated with curcumin in a sample volume of 10 μl at room temperature for 30 min, and then the resultant sample was applied for 2% agarose gel electrophoresis. After the electrophoresis, siRNA was detected by means of EtBr staining. Lanes 1–3: 1, DNA marker with length (bp) indicated at the left side; 2, untreated liposomes; 3, DMSO-treated liposomes. Lanes 4–10: liposomes treated with curcumin at 0.25, 0.3, 0.4, 0.5, 0.6, and 0.7 μg/ml, respectively. Lane 11: Triton X-100-treated liposomes.
