Nanostructures for Detection and Phototherapy

Call for Papers

Nowadays, various nanostructures have been developed and utilized for enhancing the detection sensitivity and therapeutic efficiency owing to their special properties such as optical, electronic, mechanical, and photothermal properties. However, precise engineering of their properties on a nanoscale and designing principle of these nanostructures for practice applications are still ongoing subjects. Therefore, this special issue aims to provide a multidisciplinary forum capable of discussion on recent frontiers of engineering nanostructures with various types of materials for the applications of detection and phototherapy. We invite authors to submit original research articles as well as review articles that will focus on design, synthesis, and functionalization of nanostructures for detection and phototherapy.

Potential topics include but are not limited to the following:

  • Polymer-based nanostructures
  • Semiconducting nanostructures
  • Upconversion nanoparticles
  • Nanostructure-assisted photothermal therapy
