Under energy-deficient conditions, mTORC1 dissociates from the ULK1 complex, leaving ULK1/2 and ATG13 partially dephosphorylated, and then the complex can seduce autophagy. Under energy-rich conditions, mTORC1 combines with the complex and inactivates the ULK1/2 and ATG13 proteins across phosphorylation.
