Preoperative Inflammatory Control and Surgical Outcome of Vitrectomy in Intermediate Uveitis

Figure 1

The average number of uveitis attacks, local steroid injections, the grade of vitreous haze, and systemic medications before and after vitrectomy were classified into the quiescent group and the active uveitis group based on whether there was complete inflammation control before surgery. There were no significant differences in the average number of uveitis attacks (0.19 versus 0.29, ), local steroid injections (0.06 versus 0.13, ), the grade of vitreous haze (0.03 versus 0.10, ), and systemic medications (0.31 versus 0.47, ) between the quiescent and active groups in the postoperative period, although there were significant differences in the average number of uveitis attacks (1.18 versus 1.72, ), the grade of vitreous haze (0.00 versus 1.30, ), and systemic medications (0.55 versus 1.07, ) in the preoperative period. value was calculated using an independent t-test. Asterisks indicate statistical significance between two groups.
