(a) This diagram displays the characteristics of the distance measurement (green) and (red) of object . The blue points represent the distance measurements of the model according to (9). It can be seen that model and experiment do not fit very well. Side effect from the edges of the metallic surface, the metallic stand, and a nonperfectly planar surface are reasons for the nonoptimal characteristics. (b) The diagram presents the distribution of the position estimation after the lateration algorithm. Again, the blue points represent the modelled result and the green ones the measurement results. Obviously, the NPTC situation is leading to the spread results, which can be seen already in Figure 6.
