Affordable Bimodal Optical Sensors to Spread the Use of Automated Insect Monitoring

Figure 11

(a) Scattering photodiode receiver. (b) Direct photodiode receiver. The stereo sensor has one emitter and two receivers. One for receiving the scattered light and one for the extinction light. The photodiode of both receivers is TEMD5110X01. The receiver of scattered light is amplified by the operational amplifier IC1 with transimpedance gain 1 MΩ, whereas the extinction light receiver gets amplification through the IC3 with a gain of 27 ΚΩ.
