Sensors for Robotics 2015

Description

Robots are currently widely applied in lots of areas such as industry, agriculture, medicine, transportation, social service, military, space exploration, and undersea exploiting. The robot sensor, as a key component of the robot, has been paid attention to increasingly by robot researchers. Furthermore, sensor-based human-robot interaction is currently the frontier of robot research, which involves vision interaction, speech interaction, haptic interaction, and gesture interaction. Much effort has been done to develop robot sensors for robot control, robot perception, robot navigation, and human-robot interaction. Robot sensors' design is a significant challenge. This special issue aims at exhibiting the latest research achievement, findings, and ideas in robot sensors. The special issue will become an international forum for researchers to summarize the most recent developments and ideas in the field of robot sensors.

Potential topics include, but are not limited to:

  • Robot force sensor
  • Robot tactile sensor
  • Robot vision sensor
  • Robot speech sensor
  • Smell sensor and robot nose
  • Taste sensor
  • Robot sensing
  • Multisensor information fusion for robot
  • Sensor design for human-robot interaction
  • Robot sensor calibration
  • Information processing of robot sensor
  • Pattern recognition of robot based on sensors
  • Wireless sensor communications between robots
