Advanced Sensing and Structural Health Monitoring
Description
Structural health monitoring (SHM) is one of current hot topics within civil engineering due to aging of civil infrastructures in North America to all other countries. In order to realize SHM, many advanced sensors from contact-based sensors to air-coupled sensors and sensing systems such as camera sensor networks, wireless rechargeable sensor networks, and radar sensor networks have been developed.
With the advance of sensors and sensing systems technology mentioned above, many structural damage detection, localization, and quantification methods have also been developed. The purpose of this special issue is to publish high-quality research papers as well as review articles addressing recent advances on adaptive sensing in emerging sensor networks, and their practical applications to monitor civil infrastructures for SHM. Original, high-quality contributions that are not yet published or that are not currently under review by other journals or peer-reviewed conferences are sought.
