Wireless Smart Sensor Networks, System, Trends, and the Applications in Engineering
Description
Smart environments based on wireless sensor networks represent the next evolutionary development in engineering, such as industrial automation, video surveillance, traffic monitoring, and robot control. Sensory data comes from multiple networks of interconnected sensors with complex distributed locations. Wireless sensor networks are used in many civilian applications nowadays. On the other side, the high volume demands of human civilization and society progress have given giant feedback to wireless sensor networks.
The aim of this special issue is to present the original research and review articles on the latest theoretical and practical achievements that will contribute to the field of wireless sensor networks and the applications in engineering, in all branches of computer science and information science.
Potential topics include, but are not limited to:
- Signal sources in special monitoring system
- Sensors interfaces, buses, and networks
- Wireless sensor network optimization problems
- Localization algorithms in wireless sensor networks
- Reliability of sensor network and failure analysis
- Sensor tasking, control, and actuation
- Network and transport layer protocols for cross networks
- New application in engineering: environmental monitoring, healthcare, and home automation
