Based on 4,490 individuals with diabetes, aged 21 years or older and were alive during the calendar years 2007 and 2009. Asterisks represent significant group differences by the presence of thyroid using ordinary least squares regression log transformed expenditures. Other expenditures included dental, vision, durable medical equipment use, and others. Percentage expenditures associated with thyroid disorders were estimated by exponentiating the regression coefficients of dummy variables and subtracting one (i.e., percent change ).
