Effects of VPA and ATRA on endothelial cell viability. HUVECs were treated with VPA and ATRA for 3 days and viable cells were counted as Trypan blue dye-excluding cells. The number of cells decreased after VPA treatment in a dose-dependent manner, while ATRA did not alter the number of viable cells, and the percentage of viable cells was >80% after treatment with all doses of ATRA. Results are shown as the mean number of viable cells in percent compared to control cultures ± SEM, for three independent experiments (* , Tukey’s multiple test).
