The molecular type of seven strains of Cryptococcus gattii was investigated using multilocus sequence typing (MLST) analysis. Although the mortality rate of mice infected with C. gattii TIMM 4907 was significantly higher than that of mice infected with C. gattii TIMM 4901 to 4906, MLST analysis revealed that the molecular type of all seven strains was VG I.
