Retinal Pigment Epithelial Cells Express a Functional Receptor for Glucagon-Like Peptide-1 (GLP-1)

<table>GLP-1 does not affect ARPE-19 cell viability. Cells were cultured for 24, 72, or 96 hours in the absence (CTR, white bars) or presence of 10 nmol/L GLP-1 (GPL-1, black bars). Cell proliferation rate was determined by a colorimetric method based on the formazan product of the tetrazolium compound MTS. Results showed the percentage of absorbance compared to CTR. Data were expressed as the mean ± SE of 3 independent experiments.</table>
