AIM2 Mediates Inflammation-Associated Renal Damage in Hepatitis B Virus-Associated Glomerulonephritis by Regulating Caspase-1, IL-1β, and IL-18

Figure 5

Down-regulation of AIM2 reduced expression of IL-18 at the post-transcriptional level (a) and at the translational level (b). HGM cells were divided into three groups: AIM2-siRNA and HBV DNA co-transfected group (group A), HBV DNA-transfected group without AIM2-siRNA (group B) and AIM2-siRNA and empty plasmids co-transfected group (group C). The expression of IL-18 in group A detected by qRT-PCR decreased in 1.8, 2.7 folds respectively compared with group B and group C (a). These changes were also noted at the translational level, as measured by Western blot (b). *indicates a significant difference compared with the control ( ). independent experiment RNA samples for each group.
