Impact of calcitonin on macrophage differentiation in vitro. Nonadherent cells of bone marrow at 106 cells/mL were cultured during 5 days in macrophage differentiation medium with different concentrations of calcitonin (–9). Cell proliferation was evaluated by MTS/PMS assay (a) and macrophage counts (F4/80+ cells) were assessed by cytometry following identification panel (c).
