Comparison of Oropharyngeal Microbiota from Children with Asthma and Cystic Fibrosis

Figure 3

Differences in OTU abundance between healthy children, children with asthma, and children with CF. Differential abundance of each OTU was tested via a method based on the negative binomial distribution and is represented in a heatmap for the significantly differentially abundant OTU. Mean abundance was normalized within each OTU to the maximal values (normalized valueOTU1ā€‰=ā€‰(relative abundanceOTU1)/maximum (relative abundanceOTU1)). The color code is from white (minimal abundance: 0) to red (maximal abundance: 1). Fold changes between the groups and standard errors are displayed in (b). Red dots indicate significant differences after correction for multiple testing. OTUs are named following their genus classification and colored following their phylum classification.
