High Fat Diet Alters Gut Microbiota and the Expression of Paneth Cell-Antimicrobial Peptides Preceding Changes of Circulating Inflammatory Cytokines

<div>Effect of high fat diet consumption on the relative expression of inflammatory cytokines in the small intestinal epithelial cells. Among the 4 cytokines examined, except for IFN<i>γ</i>, the mRNA expressions of TNF-<i>α</i>, IL-1<i>β</i>, and IL-6 were significantly enhanced at least in one of the three HF groups when compared to the control group fed with a LF diet for 8 weeks.</div>
