Effect of Ras inhibitor lonafarnib on IL-1β-induced inflammation in human placenta. Human placenta was incubated with 5 ng/ml IL-1β in the absence or presence of 50 μM lonafarnib (lona) for 20 h ( patients). (a–d) IL-6, IL-8, MCP-1, and GRO-α mRNA expression was analysed by qRT-PCR, and the fold change was calculated relative to IL-1β. (e–h) The incubation medium was assayed for concentration of IL-6, IL-8, MCP-1, and GRO-α release by ELISA. All data are displayed as mean ± SEM. vs. IL-1β (repeated measures one-way ANOVA with Fisher’s LSD post-hoc test).
