Effect and Mechanism of TL1A Expression on Epithelial-Mesenchymal Transition during Chronic Colitis-Related Intestinal Fibrosis

<div>TL1A promotes epithelial to mesenchymal transition (EMT) via IL-13 and the TGF-<i>β</i>1/Smad3 pathway in DSS-induced colitis-related intestinal fibrosis mouse model. (a–f) Western blot analysis of IL-13, TGF-<i>β</i>1, Smad3, ZEB1, and Snail1 in intestinal tissues from previously described groups. (g–k) RT-PCR analysis of IL-13, TGF-<i>β</i>1, Smad3, ZEB1, and Snail1 mRNA levels in mice treated as described above. (l, m) ELISA showed expressions of IL-13 and TGF-<i>β</i>1. (n) Serum TGF-<i>β</i>1 was associated with IL-13 expression.
