Study design. All animals were stabilized for 2 hours after surgical procedures, and  cfu/kg E. coli was continuously injected from T0 to T2. Hemodynamics and microcirculation measurements were taken over a 24 h period: at baseline (T0), T1, T2, T3, T4, T6, T8, T12, T18, and T24.
