Symbol	Epidemic state	Description
𝑆	Susceptible	Healthy Individuals who could potentially develop the disease.
𝐸	Exposed	Individuals who have been infected with the disease, but who are still in the latent period (with or without symptoms of the disease) and who cannot transmit the disease to others.
𝐼	Infective	Individuals who are infected with the disease (with or without symptoms of the disease) and who are capable of transmitting the infection to others.
𝑅	Recovered	Individuals who have recovered from infection thereby acquiring immunity (temporary or permanent) from infection.
𝐷	Dead	Individuals who have died from infection
