Component thermodynamical selection operator of GEP

 Step  1  Combine offspring population 𝑂_𝑡 with parent population 𝑃_𝑡 to

generate a temporary population 𝑃^′_𝑡+1;

 Step  2  Compute the component free energy of each individual in

population 𝑃^′_𝑡+1;

 Step  3  Pick the M largest component free energy individuals from

population 𝑃^′_𝑡+1;

 Step  4  Eliminate the M picked individuals from population 𝑃^′_𝑡+1 to

generate the population 𝑃_𝑡+1 for the next generation.
