A typical CDN-based VoD service system. The request routing task is fulfilled by the dispatcher. The request routing contains steps: (1) client requests arrive at the dispatcher; (2) the dispatcher samples the state of the servers and computes the request routing strategy; (3) the dispatcher returns the destination edge server information to the clients; (4) client requests are redirected to appropriate edge servers.
